Our client, a young man, suffered serious injuries, including a traumatic brain injury, as a result of dangerous conditions at a rehabilitative facility. He has been receiving ongoing medical care since the accident in 2011.

Our client, a truck driver, was making an early morning delivery to a fast food restaurant. It had recently snowed, and despite knowing that our client would be coming with the delivery, the restaurant manager did not make the sidewalks safe, and our client slipped on black ice and suffered a serious ankle injury requiring surgery. His condition worsened, and he ultimately had to have a below-the-knee amputation.

Our client was the mother of an 8-year-old boy who drowned due to dangerous conditions that existed on the property where they resided. The property manager/landlord had knowledge of the dangerous conditions on the property but failed to take any action to warn or fix the dangerous conditions.

Our client had just taken her mother to a medical facility, and she remained outside walking her dog while she waited for her mother. At the edge of the parking lot was an exposed piece of iron rebar that protruded approximately 10 inches, which caught her walking shoes and caused her to fall face first into the curb. She suffered serious injuries, including several facial lacerations and a fractured elbow. She also suffered disc protrusions in her spine.

We represented parents whose son was on a beer run at a convenience store when the security guard, despite express instructions to never engage anyone, tackled our client’s son, who went down and hit his head, suffering life-ending injuries.

While shopping with her family at the mall, our client slipped on a clear liquid on the ground and fell directly on her knee. She shattered her knee cap and required three different surgeries.

When our client was 15 years old, he was receiving physical therapy on a treadmill, and although he was a fall risk, his physical therapist left him alone. While unsupervised, he fell backwards and hit his head, suffering head trauma, including severe brain damage.

Our client, who was born deaf and with only one good eye, was having cataract removal surgery on his good eye when the surgeon did not perform adequate pre-surgery steps to confirm the size of the eye.  During the cataract removal surgery, the surgeon detached our client’s retina, causing him to lose vision in his one good eye.

Our client was the father of a 17-year-old girl who, while in the care of an emergency room of a local hospital, ingested lethal amounts of a schedule II substance. The emergency room doctors, physician’s assistants, and nurses failed to provide any care or any attention to the 17-year-old, and as a result, she passed away.

Our client was injured at birth, sustaining a severe brachial plexus injury that resulted in paralysis of his right arm and shoulder. The child weighed 10 lbs. 8 oz. at birth, but his mother was not given any warning of the risks of a normal delivery, nor was there any discussion, offer, or encouragement of a cesarean section. Even after undergoing brachial plexus neuroplasty and nerve grafting, our client continues to present with upper extremity weakness and loss of use of his arm and shoulder.

Our client was severely injured when his vehicle became disabled on Grand Avenue. Despite having his flashers on and pulling over as far to the right as possible, he was hit by a landscaping company van traveling at 40 miles an hour. An insurance company field adjuster, who’d been driving all day, was inattentive and collided into her vehicle. Our client’s mother passed away as a result.
